Jestin Moorehead

Jestin Moorehead

Jestin has been in education for 16 years since graduating from THEE Jackson State University. He started his teaching career here in New Orleans after serving as a leader intern and site coordinator for the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools at Jackson State University. Throughout his career he has served as lead 2nd grade teacher, 5th and 6th grade science teacher, Science/Social Studies Department Head for grades 6th -8th, Master Tap Teacher, IB Coordinator and most recently Director of Early Childhood for NOLA-PS.

Jestin enjoys listening to live music, a great night out at a Comedy show and watching his alma mater during football season while listening to the perfect sounds of the Sonic Boom of the South (Jackson State University award-winning marching band).

Jestin is overjoyed to help foster the change needed to help students in becoming lifelong learners.
