We offer two styles of professional development to support teachers in bringing high-quality, inquiry-based learning to their classrooms.
- Engaging Students in LSSS-Aligned Instruction Series: Our Engaging Students in LSSS-Aligned Instruction Series is a 9-session deep dive into instructional strategies that connect science concepts to real-world phenomena.
- Communities of Practice Series: Our Communities of Practice workshops provide collaborative spaces for educators to explore hands-on tools, share ideas, and refine lessons that engage and inspire students.

Our Professional Development program is designed to support teachers and administrators in executing the switch to Phenomena-based Learning (LSSS aligned curriculum). This 9 session series walks teachers through instructional shifts in 3D learning used to facilitate inquiry-based classrooms, rooted in the Louisiana Student Standards for Science. These sessions highlight teacher phenomena –not topics– as required to be LSSS-aligned.

Too many teachers work in silos.
SLL Communities of Practice workshop series are opportunities for you to meet and interact with your colleagues. These workshops are 1-2 hour sessions, after school, focusing on a particular piece of equipment, kit, or lesson plan, and highlight how to ensure they are phenomenon-based and rigorous.
